Coffe/Tea to help hair growth

The health benefits of green tea are well publicized. This increasingly popular drink is packed with antioxidants that combat harmful free radicals, deliver cancer-fighting flavonoids and disrupt the production of bacteria. These same antioxidants also benefit the hair and scalp in multiple ways.







1. Be prepared to let the coffee have enough time to cool or pop an ice cube in the coffee to quickly cool it down.

2. Have a large pitcher or bowl to allow for repeated rinses.

3. This is a very messy process. Don't attempt this anywhere but in a shower to avoid possible coffee stains to sinks.

4. Remember that you hair could possibly stain your towels. Use an old towel that you don't mind staining in case this happens.

5. Rinse the hair well enough to prevent the coffee from dripping and staining during the final cool rinse.

6. The results will be cumulative over a period of months.

7. If you want deeper results you will need to use a temporary coloring agent. Or you can experiment with making a coffee pack mixing 2 parts coffee to one part yogurt and applying to the hair topped off with a shower cap. Leave on your hair for several hours and then shampoo and finish with a coffee rinse.

8. If you prefer use black tea or herbal teas instead of coffee. Light haired people should avoid dark teas and coffees that might stain their hair.

The amount of coffee or tea that you use should be in proportion to the amount of hair that you have. If you have long or thick hair, allow extra liquid for rinsing. Start with two or three of the eight ounce cups and adjust the amount you use depending on the results. The same would be true for the amount of tea that you use.

One thing is certain. Using coffee or tea can be an interesting and fairly cheap alternative to adding color to dark hair.

Tea Bags for Puffy Eyes

Swollen or puffy eyes are caused when fluid is trapped in the tissue under the eye. This naturally occurs more frequently in the morning, but it can be a problem with allergies, after crying or with a hangover. Any astringent will aid in reducing swollen eyes. An astringent is a chemical that constricts body tissue when applied topically. Tea bags work well because they have natural tannins that act as astringents
.

Steep two tea bags in hot water. Chamomile is widely considered the best type of tea to use on swollen eyes. When the tea has steeped remove the bags and allow the wet bags to cool slightly.

Place the warm tea bag on your eyes. Leave the bags on your eyes until they start to feel cool. An alternative is to soak cotton balls with the tea directly from the bag and place the cotton balls on your eyes.

Place the wet tea bags in the refrigerator to cool. This is a matter of taste as some people prefer warm tea bags on their eyelids, and others prefer cool. Cold should act as a natural astringent so cooler tea bags often work faster, but are not as comfortable as warm tea bags.

Lie on your back for a few minutes. Consider putting a towel under your head in case liquid from the tea bags drips.

You can also use tea to stimulate hair growth!

Yogurt Mask

Have oily skin? How about dryness? Or acne?

One of the most effective face masks for me include natural ingredients, such as yogurt.
Yogurt is effective at cleansing and disinfecting pores, preventing acne, moisturizing skin and revitalizing its texture
.

When selecting your face mask ingredients, choose plain-flavored yogurt. Fruit varieties have too much sugar and other ingredients that are not beneficial to the skin. If your skin tends to be particularly dry, the lipid content in full-fat, or whole yogurt, can provide needed moisture. If your skin is on the oily side, stick with low-fat yogurt.
 

Application

Wash your face thoroughly with warm water and a mild cleanser. Pat dry, and apply 1 cup of plain yogurt with your fingers, covering all areas of your face and upper neck. Leave the face mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, then gently wash it away with warm water. Repeat the process daily or weekly.

Remember, you can always add other organic ingredients!
